across the Alpine Fault to the lands where my grandmother was raised, the
rugged West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The winter fares had
just come into effect on the Tranz Alpine railway and I was lucky to get a

region's cuisine. And so I contacted the Greymouth Gourmet and Guzzlers
Group to see if anyone wanted to join me for dinner. "Anywhere you think
would be reasonable", I said "as long as it is BYO".
And because it was short notice, it was an eclectic group that met on a wild
West Coast evening at Café Collage, a 'local institution' on the Greymouth
dining scene and a second home to the GGGG's"
